| WEST SALEM, the most "neighborly" neighborhood in Winston-Salem, is truly a warm and welcomng place! In West Salem you will not only find friendly welcoming neighbors, but also a historical housing stock that will rival any neighborhood in the city. And, on January 19, 2005, West Salem was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. We want this site to become a useful place for you to learn about our neighborhood and what we are doing to make this a better place to live, work, and play. Everyone plays a part! Join us! Become involved! NEXT ASSOCIATION MEETINGTHERE WILL BE NO REGULAR MEETING OF THE WEST SALEM NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION IN LIEU OF NATIONAL NIGHT OUT - Tuesday, August 2, 2010, 6pmAugust is National Night Out. Traditionally neighbors gather for an annual national event to show nationwide unity in support of a crime free community. This important event will be held at Franklin and Green in the Piedmont Baptist College lot. There will be games for the kids, free hotdogs, well as the annual Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest. The West Salem Civivc Club, West Salem Neighborhood Watch, and West Salem Neighborhood Association sponsor this event. Come on out and show your unity in the fight against crime!!
